DAY #8...255 MILES (2714)

I SPENT SATURDAY NIGHT IN BLUE SPRINGS MISSOURI. EARLY SUNDAY MORNING I WAS WOKE UP BY THUNDER AND FAIRLY HEAVY RAIN. WHEN I GOT UP TO LEAVE THIS MORNING IT HAD STOPPED RAINING AND THE PAVEMENT WAS DRY, BUT AFTER LOOKING AT THE WEATHER RADAR, I DECIDED TO PUT ALL MY RAIN GEAR ON TO BE SAFE. AND I'M GLAD I DID........IT STARTED RAINING SHORTLY AFTER LEAVING THE MOTEL, AND RAINED HARD FOR ABOUT 30-40 MILES. THE TEMPS WERE PLEASANT THOUGH, SO IT WASN'T ALL THAT BAD. I ARRIVED HOME ABOUT 11:15 A.M., AFTER RIDING 255 MILES.
I RODE A TOTAL OF 2714 MILES ON THE TRIP, AND THE KLR PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY. IT HAS ALMOST 54,000 ON THE CLOCK, AND STILL RUNS LIKE NEW.
THE WEATHER FOR THE MOST PART WAS PERFECT FOR THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE GONE, RIDING IN THE STATES OF KANSAS, MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, AND OHIO.
THANKS TO ALL THOSE THAT ATTENDED THE THUMPERCAFE. WE HAD A TOTAL OF 40 MOTORCYCLES THERE FOR THE EVENT, AND THE FOOD WAS GREAT.
SEE YOU ALL IN LOUISIANA.
